Non-alcoholic apple punch . by Augarten Hotel Neustift
After a refreshing walk on crisp fall and frosty winter days here in Neustift in the Stubai Valley, a hot apple punch provides soothing warmth from the inside. This recipe does not contain any alcohol, so even the little ones can enjoy this winter treat without any worries.
As a fruity counterpart to traditional eggnog or mulled wine, apple punch enriches the festive Christmas season. Boiled up and bottled in elegant glass bottles, it makes a charming homemade Christmas gift.
Day of the apple punch:
Every year on November 18, we celebrate Apple Punch Day – a day dedicated to this warming, spicy drink. At this time of year, when the leaves are falling in bright colors and the air is filled with the freshness of autumn, the aromas of cinnamon, cloves, apple and orange come into their own. These ingredients reach their culinary peak and combine to create a drink that captures the essence of fall.
To honor this special day, we have composed a symphony of flavors in the form of our favorite apple punch recipe. This recipe is an invitation to come together, share the warmth and celebrate the season.
First of all, a little tip for the apple punch:
It’s not just the cinnamon, but also all the other ingredients in your apple punch that should be organic and locally sourced. Locally grown produce means less transportation and is therefore a more environmentally friendly choice.
Delicious recipe for non-alcoholic apple punch:
We from the Augarten . Berg Genuss Hotel Neustift, we have put together our favorite punch recipe for you in this article.
For this you need:
- 1 liter of naturally cloudy apple juice … for a full-bodied base.
- 2 aromatic cinnamon sticks and 4 fragrant cloves, supplemented with 1 whole star anise – these spices are the protagonists of our punch.
- 1 juicy orange, cut into thin slices – for a hint of citrus freshness and vibrant color.
- Optional for those who like it sweeter: a handful of brown sugar
- Option 2 for those who want a little alcohol in their punch: a shot of spicy rum. This adds depth and a little fire.
The preparation is a sensual experience:
- Pour the apple juice into a larger pan and add the cinnamon sticks, cloves and star anise. Place the orange slices on top.
- Heat the whole thing to a comfortable medium heat. You want the punch to be hot, but not boiling, so that the spices can gently unfold their secrets.
- When the punch is almost boiling, turn the heat down and let it simmer gently for 10 minutes. This is the moment when magic happens and the flavors marry.
- For those who like it sweeter: sprinkle in the brown sugar and add a generous dash of rum to taste.
- Finally, strain the spices and pour the punch into preheated cups, garnishing each with a slice of fresh orange.
- With every cup of this apple punch you will bring a bit of warmth and joy to your day.
